1. One to three years general programming experience
2. Experience in web development using the Ruby on Rails web application framework
3. At least one year of Ruby on Rails programming experience
4. Thorough understanding of the philosophy and design of Ruby on Rails
5. Desktop publishing skills: HTML, Haml, xHTML, CSS
6. Knowledge of:
i. JavaScript, CoffeeScript and JavaScript libraries: jQuery, MooTools, Prototype, etc.
ii. Unix and Linux systems
iii. Relational databases: Postgres, etc.
iv. Frameworks: Active record, Merb, Datamapper
v. Technologies: Mootools, Lucene, Solr
vi. Servers: Montgrel, Webrick, Nginx
7. Highly preferred experience:
i. Ability to work with the Amazon EC2, S3, Heroku, and EBS services
ii. Cookbook, Capistrano and Chef
iii. NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Redis, memcached, CouchDB
iv. Git, SVN
v. Exposure to messaging service like rabbit mq over amqp
